This department serves patients with End Stage Heart and Lung Disease.

End stage heart disease is usually due to:

  1. Dilated Cardiomyopathy.

  2. Ischemic Cardiomyopathy. (Due to coronary artery disease, after bypass surgery OR Angioplasty)

  3. Advanced Valvular Heart disease.

In other words, all patients whose Left Ventricle (the lower left chamber of the heart) has become too weak to pump blood to the whole body, to maintain adequate circulation despite maximal medical treatment. The Left Ventricle may be weakened due to any of the above conditions.

We have also facilities for Artificial Heart (Left Ventricular Assist devices) and Artificial Lung (Extra Corporeal Membrane Oxygenator: ECMO)

We have the latest, state of the art equipments like Macquet’s ECMO machine, General Electric’s Nitric Oxide delivery system, and all type of Bronchoscopes.

State of the art preservation solution for all organs inclusive Lung (PERFEDEX) and Heart (HTK/ UW Solution) preservations.
