Dr. Pillai did her post-graduation in medicine from P.D. Hinduja Hospital, Mumbai. In 2013, she completed her fellowship in infectious diseases, a national board certified specialization in Infectious diseases from P.D.Hinduja hospital, Mumbai. Following that, she joined Sir. H.N. Reliance foundation Hospital, Mumbai as a consultant in medicine and infectious diseases.
During her tenure at Sir. H.N.Reliance foundation hospital, she was instrumental in setting up infectious diseases services in the hospital and also set up infection control policies of the new hospital including commissioning of the new set up. She is currently practicing in Thane for last 3 years and is attached to Jupiter hospital. Thane. She is academically inclined and regularly gives lectures in various conferences and CME and conducts patient education talks in community. She has numerous publications to her credit, including text book chapters and articles in prestigious journals.

- 2 years Fellowship in Hinduja Hospital followed by 2 years at H.N. Hospital, Mumbai and in Jupiter – October 2016.
- Post DNB med 9 Years.
- National Board fellowship in infectious Diseases from Hinduja Hospital, Mumbai.
- Trained in Management and work up of difficult to treat infections, Resistant Infections, HIV, Fungal infections, all fever, Infections in transplant, adult vaccinations and travel Medicine.
